Ayushmann Khurrana: 'Having a background in theatre helped me with 'Nautanki Saala' role'

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who made his Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor and will be next seen in Rohan Sippy's laugh riot Nautanki Saala, will be seen playing the role of a theatre artiste in the film and the actor claims that his experience with theatre helped him with the role.

Khurrana, who had dabbled in theatre before coming to films, said, “As far as Vicky Donor was concerned, I was playing a typical Delhi boy and as I am from the Delhi-Chandigarh area, it helped me with my character. Similarly, my background in theatre did help me for my role in Nautanki Saala as in the film, I play a theatre artiste and I knew the mannerisms and body language of people, who are associated with theatre. This helped me immensely while playing the role.”

In the film, Khurrana will be seen playing the role of Ram Parmar, a theatre actor, who is known for playing Ravan on the stage. The film also stars Kunaal Roy Kapur, who was last seen in Delhi Belly.
