b:blunt, Monsoon, JCB open new salons; Dessange and Warren Tricomi debut in Mumbai

Expansion mode

Last month, celebrity hairstylist Adhuna Akhtar and brother Osh Bhabani launched Gurgaon's first b:blunt mini, taking their grand total of b:blunt franchises to 18. Her husband, Farhan Akhtar, flew into the city to officially cut the ribbon.

Though they haven't debuted in other Indian metros yet, Monsoon Salon and Spa, headed by Vogue Beauty Awards 2012 winner hair stylist Rod Anker, is taking over the capital at breakneck speed. On July 25, they announced the opening of three new salons in Punjabi Bagh, Rajouri Garden and Greater Kailash.

Jean Claude Biguine, which already has a presence in Mumbai and Bangalore, added one more space to their kitty in Khar, Mumbai. The brand celebrated the launch of theirtenth salon in India with a bunch of celebrities, including Neeta and Nishka Lulla, Suchitra Pillai, Sarah Jane Dias, Lisa Haydon and Karishma Tanna.

New launches

French import Dessange will officially launch in September this year, but if you want to check it out, the first salon is already open and functioning in Khar, Mumbai. If you are environmentally conscious, the brands products might be a good fit because they make a point to use natural active ingredients in their formulations.

Hairstylists Joel-Warren and Edward Tricomi have been working with red carpet regulars like Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba for years, and now they're bringing their premium salon brand Warren Tricomi to Mumbai. Official launch dates haven't been confirmed yet, but we hear the salon will probably open by the end of this month or early next.

With nine salons spread across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Gurgaon, Toni & Guy has plans to increase that number to 17 before the year ends.
