After NAUTANKI SAALA and AASHIQUI 2, producer Bhushan Kumar is now aiming for the release of his third film in the form of I LOVE NEW YEAR. Though the Sunny Deol starrer has been moved from an earlier planned April release to now May, Bhushan says that all of that is for a reason.
"Promotion of YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2 is going great guns so it makes sense for us to benefit from that. As the heat builds on for that film, our I LOVE NEW YEAR would gain added visibility as well. It doesn't harm to postpone the film by a few weeks when it promises a win-win situation for all involved. Recently we even pre-poned AASHIQUI 2 by so many weeks and that too against all odds. Still the results worked in our favour, isn't it," says Bhushan.
He has a task in hand though to present Sunny Deol in a romantic film. After all, since he has been known for his action image last three decades, what are his plans to show a different side of his personality to the audience?
"For starters, we are promoting I Love New Year as musical while keeping only the romantic concept in mind. We haven't even tried to bring in any elements that would have come close to his known image and that's because the film doesn't have any. With the film, we want to give a different kind of hang to the audience. There are indeed many people out there who want to watch Sunny playing a different character without any action. I LOVE NEW YEAR, which does boast of a unique love story, should do the trick for him," says Bhushan in a confident tone before signing off.
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the makers of Salman Khan starrer LUCKY - NO TIME FOR LOVE, I LOVE NEW YEAR has Kangana in the lead and is being slated for 17th May release.
