While Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is basking in the glory of BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG which is seeing critical acclaim as well as commercial success coming its way, there is no movement expected on the film he was supposed to be making with Amitabh Bachchan. Touted to be an emotional tale between a father and a daughter, the tearjerker has been indefinitely postponed.

"It was more than a couple of years back when Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had decided to team up with Amitabh Bachchan again after his debut directorial outing AKS. Unlike the supernatural cum thrilling feel of AKS, this newer film was meant to be a heartwarming tale with Amitabh Bachchan and a young girl, who was yet to be finalised then. In fact Prasoon Joshi was also making good progress in writing the film," the source adds.

This was the time when Mehra was expanding his production house and hence had given his Chief Assistant Director, Sunil Pandey, to direct the film. It was also before 3 THEY BHAI, another of Mehra's production, had not yet released. The film bombed and there was a hold up period before Mehra brought his next on floors.

"He concentrated entirely on BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG post that and was relentless during it's making for a couple of years," says a close associate, "Of course he has good plans for his production house in months to come but the said film with Mr. Bachchan doesn't feature in his plans."

When contacted, Mehra confirmed that he would soon be announcing two new productions.

"Yes, we will be producing movies", said Mehra when contacted, "These would have two young dynamic directors at the helm of affairs. However the Big B film with Sunil Pandey is not happening. There is no immediate plan for that either."

Perhaps there is something else that the filmmaker has in mind for his favourite actor with whom he had worked quite extensively even before making AKS. Watch this space!
