The coming Friday will see three releases, John Abraham's I, ME AUR MAIN, Ram Gopal Varma directed ATTACKS Of 26/11 and BLOODY ISSHQ. From the list it is likely to be the first two films which will compete for a bigger piece of the box-office pie. However, last Friday's KAI PO CHE! will still be a formidable opponent for the three new releases

The two releases of last week, namely UTV Motion Picture's KAI PO CHE! and Sanjay Dutt's ZILA GHAZIABAD, behaved quite predictably. While UTV Motion Picture's KAI PO CHE! has been lapped up by the high end multiplex audience (especially in Metros) netting 17 core during the opening weekend, ZILA GHAZIABAD appealed ( initially) to the mass belt of hinterland netting around 11-12 crore during the same period. However, during the weekdays KAI PO CHE! maintained rock-steady collections but ZILA GHAZIABAD saw an alarming erosion in collection.

KAI PO CHE! has also triumphed in the overseas (especially in the US) grossing and#163;93,000 from UK and $523,000 from the US during the opening weekend (22-24 February)

Moving on, the next edition of the MURDER franchise, MURDER 3 could not improve upon it's below par weekend and collected 1.75 crore from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 55 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 15 lakhs from Surat, 13 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 6.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 35 lakhs from Pune, 10 lakhs from Nasik, 5.50 lakhs from Goa, 2 lakhs from Belgaum, 1.80 crore from Delhi city, 30 lakhs from Noida, 23 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 19 lakhs from Kanpur, 25 lakhs from Lucknow, 7.75 lakhs from Allahabad, 11.50 lakhs from Agra, 4 lakhs from Meerut, 25 lakhs from Gurgaon, 5.50 lakhs from Faridabad, 2.30 lakhs from Kurukshetra, 4.25 lakhs from Panipat, 6 lakhs from Chandigarh, 6 lakhs from Jalandhar, 1.55 lakhs from Amritsar, 5.50 lakhs from Ludhiana, 2.20 lakhs from Bhatinda, 2.30 lakhs from Ambala, 2.55 lakhs from Jammu, 65 lakhs from Calcutta, 1 lakh from Darjeeeling, 5 lakhs from Siliguri, 3.35 lakhs from Dhanbad, 1.50 lakhs from Ranchi, 5 lakhs from Bhubaneshwar, 3.65 lakhs from Guwahati, 25 lakhs from Nagpur, 9.30 lakhs from Jabalpur, 13 lakhs from Raipur, 20 lakhs from Indore (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 4.25 lakhs from Gwalior (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 11.55 lakhs from Bhopal (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 35 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 5.75 lakhs from Ajmer, 3.55 lakhs from Bikaner, 9 lakhs from Kota, 8.65 lakhs from Udaipur, 45 lakhs from Hyderabad, 8 lakhs from Aurangabad (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 30 lakhs from Bangalore, 1.65 lakhs from Vijawada, 3 lakhs from Visakhapatnam, 2.65 lakhs from Madras and 1.50 lakhs from Coimbatore.
