Bollywood Box Office Report Of The Week

This Friday's new release will be the Arshad Warsi and Soha Ali Khan starrer, MR. JOE B. CARVALHO, and just as we had mentioned in the film's music review, the first choice of the audience will once again be DHOOM 3, though MR. JOE B. CARVLAHO may find limited patronage in Mumbai-Goa. The other release of the week, Ramesh Sippy's Amitabh-Dharmendra timeless classic SHOLAY this time in 3D format, is sure to find it's set of admirers and fans!

The two releases of last Friday, MAHABHARAT (animated) and BHADAAS were blown away by, we all know by which film! Obviously, we are talking about DHOOM 3.

After netting an amazing 100 crore, during the opening weekend itself, Yash Raj Films' Aamir, Katrina, Abhishek and Uday starrer, DHOOM 3, saw a rock steady performance during the weekdays as well. During the opening week, DHOOM 3 has netted a record smashing 175 crore from India and is a blockbuster hit that is still kicking on all cylinders. The dubbed version(s) added another 11 crore to DHOOM 3's kitty. The film has also smashed most records in the overseas grossing over $ 20 m with and#163;1,975,000 from UK and $6,818,000 from the US till the second weekend (27-29 December).

Concluding with Prabhu Dheva's Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer, R...RAJKUMAR, the film saw a premature death due to the DHOOM 3 onslaught, as we had foreseen. All the same R...RAJKUMAR added another crore, thus netting 60 crore in three weeks from India and is an above average fare
