Bollywood box-office report of the week

By Abid, Glamsham Editorial

This Friday will see the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Deepika-Ranveer starrer, RAM-LEELA, and Kangna Ranaut's RAJJO. Given the buzz and feedback from the trade and distribution pundits as well as the paying audience, the battle will be won comprehensibly by SLB's RAM-LEELA. The film is expected to embark on a good start (extraordinary in Maharashtra and Gujarat) in India and the overseas. The film though will have to content with the still hot Hrithik Roshan starrer KRRISH 3.

Last week saw the release of RGV's SATYA 2, which was touted as the filmmaker's comeback vehicle. Unfortunately the film turned out to be a damp squib, very much like RGV's last few ventures.

After a creditable opening weekend (52-53 crore) during the dull pre-Diwali days, Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH 3 came into its own with a record breaking Monday due to heavy patronization from the family audience. The film maintained the tempo thereafter too collecting 15 crore from Bombay, 5 crore from Ahmedabad, 1.15 crore from Surat, 90 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 5 cinemas unreceived), 2.65 crore from Pune, 60.25 lakhs from Nasik, 29 lakhs from Goa, 18 lakhs from Belgaum, 8.50 crore from Delhi city, 1.05 crore from Noida, 1.50 crore from Ghaziabad, 1 crore from Kanpur, 1.55 crore from Lucknow, 43.25 lakhs from Agra, 24.65 lakhs from Allahabad, 32 lakhs from Meerut, 30.65 lakhs from Aligarh, 1.50 crore from Gurgaon, 32.55 lakhs from Faridabad, 9.50 lakhs from Kurukshetra, 12 lakhs from Panipat, 50 lakhs from Chandigarh, 37.20 lakhs from Jalandhar, 35.50 lakhs from Amritsar, 29.25 lakhs from Ludhiana, 16.50 lakhs from Bhatinda, 10 lakhs from Ambala, 3 crore from Calcutta, 6.50 lakhs from Darjeeling, 31.25 lakhs from Siliguri, 22 lakhs from Dhanbad, 12.25 lakhs from Ranchi, 25 lakhs from Bhubhaneshwar, 1.15 crore from Nagpur, 42.35 lakhs from Jabalpur, 90 lakhs from Raipur, 1.30 crore from Indore (collections from 5 cinemas unreceived), 30 lakhs from Gwalior (collections from 5 cinemas unreceived), 70 lakhs from Bhopal (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 3.65 crore from Jaipur, 84 lakhs from Jodhpur, 40 lakhs from Ajmer, 29.25 lakhs from Bikaner, 54 lakhs from Kota, 3.10 crore from Hyderabad, 45.35 lakhs from Aurangabad (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 2.50 crore from Bangalore, 16.75 lakhs from Mangalore, 13.25 lakhs from Vijayawada, 16 lakhs from Visakhapatnam, 12 lakhs from Madras, 5.50 lakhs from Coimbatore and 16.25 lakhs from Kochi. Netting 126 crore during the opening week, KRRISH 3 is a blockbuster. The dubbed version(s) have added another 8 crores. KRRISH 3 has also impressed in the overseas grossing $7m with and#163;717,929 from UK and $1,870,000 from the US till the second weekend (8-10 November).

Concluding with Manish Paul's MICKEY VIRUS, the film added another 70 lakhs thus netting 8.20 crore in two weeks from India and is an average fare.
