Bollywood celebs express grief over Sarabjit's death on Twitter

New Delhi, May 1 (ANI): The whole of B-Town brigade is mourning the death of Indian prisoner in Pakistan-Sarabjit Singh

Tinsel town hunk Salman Khan, who had launched an online petition asking for Singh's freedom in 2012, posted a sad message on Twitter regarding the 49-year-old's demise.

"Freedom at last. Hope they give him to his family. We all tried, guess not hard enough. May god give his family strength and his soul rests in peace," Khan tweeted.

Joining the 'Dabangg' star in the mourning were Madhur Bhandarkar, Javed Akhtar, Mahesh Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Kunal Kohli and Sonam Kapoor who condemned his death on micro-blogging site.

"Pakistan should have sent his body earlier to India. Feel sad for Sarabjit Singh's family. For them, the long hopeful wait has come to a sad end. His death will always be a reminder of petty minded politics," Bhandarkar wrote.

Meanwhile, Javed tweeted: "Some day I may forget Kargil, but will never forget Sarabjit's murder. It is an act of extreme meanness by a very petty minded establishment."

Bhatt also expressed his grief claiming that Singh's death has pushed the Indo-Pak relationship to the brink.

He added that the Pakistan civil society needs to push their government to act humanly.

"Dear Sarabjit's family. Like the families of Nirbhaya, the beheaded solider, the 5-year-old old raped girl. Your son too will not get justice," Kohli shared.

"With Sarabjit's death, Pakistan has painted itself a heartless villain, even in the most forgiving Indian's eye. Unforgettable insensitivity. RIP," Farhan wrote.

"I feel betrayed as an Indian," Kapoor posted. (ANI)
