'Dedh Ishqiya' Was Written Keeping Madhuri Dixit In Mind, Claims Director

In Abhishek Chaubey's dark comedy Ishqiya, Vidya Balan had played the role of a femme fatale and in the sequel titled Dedh Ishqiya, Madhuri Dixit will be seen playing the female lead and director Chaubey claims that the film was written keeping Madhuri in mind.

In an interview, Chaubey revealed that filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj was in touch with the actress for the role even before she had shifted back to India from the USA. The sequel will see Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah reprising their roles and the film is slated to release next year.

Ishqiya was a major hit at the box office and Balan bagged many awards for being the best actress at various award events.
