Dhanush to take lead over Ram Charan Teja and Prithviraj?

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

If things would have gone as per plan, Ram Charan Teja could well have made his debut in a Hindi film now and presumably scored a big success as well with the remake of ZANJEER remake. However this hasn't quite turned out to be the case which means another actor from down South, Dhanush, has an opportunity to take first strike with RAANJHANAA.

"The First Look of ZANJEER was almost ready and plans were also in place to bring the film in the first half of 2013. However with Mehras courting controversies surrounding the film right from its inception, there have been quite a few unfortunate delays around its release. Currently, the film is stuck in a big way and there is no release round the sight. Sad, because Ram Charan Teja holds so much promise and could well have been first import from down South to make it big in Bollywood too," says a veteran filmmaker.

On the other hand Prithviraj, an acclaimed actor from Malayalam films, did quite well in AIYYAA (last year) and AURANGZEB (early this year) but success eluded him on both occasions. He was quite good in both the films and with good Hindi to boast of, he could well have made his place in the industry. While he hopes to get third time lucky in Farah Khan's HAPPY NEW YEAR, it is Dhanush who would be put through the litmus test this Friday.

"Director Aanand L Rai and producer Krishika Lulla have put a lot of trust, confidence and money in the youngster," says a source attached to the film, "Whatever one may say, the fact remains that he has to break the stereotype attached to actors who come from down South. He has to quash the jinx that heroes from South don't get accepted in Hindi films. He is unconventional to the core and that should work in his favour. Aanand has already done quite well with another actor from South, Madhavan, in TANU WEDS MANU. He had already done a few Hindi films before though. The challenge now is for Dhanush to make a mark."

Well, how the challenge is met would be known this Friday when the film releases all over.
