The unbearable summer heat takes a toll on the body, but you don't have to run to a spa and spend all your hard earned money. Here are some easy DIY recipes which will rejuvenate your senses and make you feel fresh as a daisy, in spite of the blazing summer heat.

Recipe


Combine 2 cups of milk with 1 cup of honey. Mix them well add it to your bathing mix, soak in for 20 mins and then rinse off. Apart from soothing the body, this recipe works wonders for dry skin.

Hot tip - Use full fat milk for best results.

Chocolate body paint for a more radiant and yummier you

Surprised? You can look as delicious and not to forget as irresistible as chocolate. Get some chocolate for soft, supple and glowing skin. People all over the world swear by it, so why not try it yourself?

What you'll need

1 cup pure dark chocolate
4 tablespoons oatmeal
2 tablespoons sour cream or heavy cream

Recipe

Mix all the ingredients and apply on the body. Let it stay for some time and then rinse off.

Hot Tip- You can add honey to the mix as it helps slough off dead skin and unclog pores.

Body wraps to detoxify and rejuvenate your body

Body wraps help eliminate toxins from the body and relieves tension in the muscles. No, you don't have to visit a spa to get a body wrap, read on to know how to enjoy the perfect body wrap sitting in the comfort of your home.

Mix yoghurt and honey together, add some vanilla essence (or lavender or peppermint or whichever you prefer), olive oil and whisk it well. In the end, add some freshly ground coffee beans and mix all the ingredients together.

Another simple homemade body wrap recipe can be prepared by adding Epsom salts, rosemary and other herbs, essence (vanilla/ Chamomile/ lavender) to a pot of boiling water.

Hot Tip
-To make a clay wrap you can add your choice of clay depending on your skin type to the body wrap mix- Bentonite for oily skin, Pink Kaolin for sensitive and dry skin and Yellow Kaolin for normal skin.

Apply the mixture and wrap your body with plastic sheets or towels wrung in the body wrapping mix. Remember, don't wrap it too tight or you'll choke, it should be just tight enough to allow the ingredients to stay put and not drip. Listen to some soft music as the ingredients work their magic. Unwrap after an hour and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Why go to a spa and spend so much when you can experience the same without spending much, And yes, homemade recipes are devoid of harmful chemicals, which is why you don't have to worry about any side effects. So, let the goodness of nature help you get your glow back.
