EK THI DAAYAN: Emraan Hashmi-Vishal Bhardwaj's ode to Gulzar!

By Glamsham Editorial

Both filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and actor Emraan Hashmi are self-confessed fans of legendary Gulzar's works. In fact, Vishal and the veteran writer have worked together on several films and are known to be quite a winning combination too. But now the filmmaker has taken his adulation for Gulzar a step further.

A source reveals that in his upcoming film EK THI DAAYAN, the filmmaker has included a scene where Emraan will be paying an ode to the writer by reading out a few couplets from his book.

Tanuj Garg (CEO Balaji Motion Pictures) shares, "It's a house-party sequence where Kalki (Koechlin) coaxes Emraan to sing. During the song, he lifts a book of poems by Gulzaarsaab and recites a few couplets from it. The book has Gulzarsaab on the cover too. It's obviously Vishal paying an ode to his favourite. Gulzaarsaab is actually the lyricist of this song Yaarum too."

Another source on-set reveals, "When Emraan heard about reading the couplets from Gulzaar's book, he was thrilled and revealed that he's a fan of his works too."

Also starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, EK THI DAAYAN is set to release on April, 18, 2013.
