Bollywood and Cricket are celebrated as 'religions' in India! And Farhan Akhtar has got the best of both worlds to promote his campaign MARD...

Farhan was present to promote his campaign MARD at Eden Garderns yesterday. He narrated the MARD poem (written by Javed Akhtar). Post which, Shaan recited the poem in Bengali and Navjot Singh Sidhu narrated it in Punjabi

The idea was to spread the word to as many people as possible. The poem is being translated in many more regional languages as well.

Preity Zinta was also present at the match and even though Shahrukh could not come due to his hectic shooting schedule, admits Farhan that the idea of getting MARD to a match stemmed from Shahrukh itself.

There were 70,000 moustaches and MARD flyers distributed at the stadium which got audiences curious and interested. Many were spotted adorning these moustaches.

Farhan was delighted to see the awareness among kids increasing as he strongly believes that they are our future and the children of today need to be enlightened and educated on the initiative as much as the older ones.
