Two production houses, Fox Star Studios and Phantom Films, will be coming together to produce Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film Bombay Velvet.

Set to be the first film of a trilogy, as planned by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet is the story of how the city became a Metropolis, set against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and Jazz.

Talking about his upcoming film, Anurag says, “It’s a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now it's fully ready, and we begin shoot this year.”

Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, India, says, “We are delighted to partner with Anurag on his next directorial venture, Bombay Velvet. For us at Fox Star, this film is yet another example of the high concept cinema that we want to be known for.“

Amit Trivedi has already started working on the music of the film.

The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, will go on floors in July 2013, and is set to release on December 25, 2014.
