Himesh - A lucky mascot for Karisma?

Not many are aware that Himesh Reshammiya's first album as a solo composer was Karisma Kapoor's DULHAN HUM LE JAYENGE (2000). While the film's song 'Dhadhke Dil Baar Baar' is played till date, Karisma was sure that when it came to her comeback film DANGEROUS ISHHQ, it would be Himesh and no one else who would do the film's soundtrack.

"Karisma is returning to big screen after almost a decade and since this Vikram Bhatt film is a romantic thriller, music is very integral to the plot. Moreover it was felt that someone with good classical background with good commercial music sense was in charge here since the film traverses eras. The only hitch was to convince Himesh to come on board since he was composing for only his movies," says a source.

All such fears were unfounded though as Himesh was glad to be associated with the film. Moreover since DANGEROUS ISSHQ was a prestigious project, he felt that it would work for all involved.

"It is always good to have Himesh on board," says Vikram Bhatt who has worked with Anu Malik in majority of his films so far, "Whether it is because of Karisma or due to any other reason that he did the film, it has worked immensely well for us. He did compose for my RED few years back. However what he has done now in DANGEROUS ISHHQ is phenomenal. It isn't easy to get the period setting right and create music which goes with the era and yet sounds contemporary."

Guess it's the Kapoor affection that did the trick.
