Huma Qureshi Replaces Kangana Ranaut In 'Dedh Ishqiya'

It has been confirmed that Huma Qureshi has replaced Kangana Ranaut in the sequel to the 2010 hit Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya. Huma, who will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Ek Thi Daayan opposite Emraan Hashmi, has been roped in to play a pivotal part in the film. Richa Chadda was also supposed to be a strong contender for this role.

Sources reveal that director Abhishek Chaubey has taken his own time to finish the script of Dedh Ishqiya and he wanted to start the film only after he was sure of the script. Earlier Kangana was supposed to be a part of the film but there was a problem regarding her dates.

Huma and Richa were both appreciated for their respective roles in Gangs Of Wasseypur. However, Huma was selected since she had already worked with Vishal in Kannan Iyer's Ek Thi Daayan. The film, starring Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah, is set to start filming on February 18 in Lucknow.
