Introducing Mr and Mrs GHANCHAKKAR Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan

By Glamsham Editorial

There has been lot of buzz as to what kind of characters Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan are playing in the upcoming film GHANCHAKKAR. So to appease all your curiosity the makers finally introduces their lead characters. Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Rajkumar Gupta (of AAMIR fame), GHANCHAKKAR is set to release on June 28, 2013. Amit Trivedi composes music for this quirky comedy whose trailer will be out on March 29.

Meanwhile meet Mr and Mrs Ghanchakkar!

Emraan Hashmi aka Sanjay Athray aka Mr Ghanchakkar

Sanjay Athray is a vault breaker who has taken voluntary early retirement from his profession. His current behaviour is completely like that of an elderly retired person. He attends to his small garden early in the warning, watches TV most of the day and sips quality wine at night. He dresses in comfy cottons and is an absolutely unflappable cool guy. Sanju's demeanor changes after he comes out of his 'retirement' to be part of a heist with some other conmen who knew an ex-partner of his. Sanju is entrusted with the loot and he forgets where it is kept. He begins to forget a lot of other things too but his memory is extremely sharp when it comes to certain other things like anniversaries for example. As the pressure begins to mount to find the loot, a brutally honest, ultra-cool Sanju suddenly starts to act drastically. He becomes extremely hassled and suspicious, prone to sarcasm and bouts of anger. It starts getting increasingly difficult to decide whether he is really affected by some sort of amnesia or is he just play-acting. Is Sanju suffering from some medical problem or is he making a 'ghanchakkar' out of all of us?

Vidya Balan aka Neetu Athray aka Mrs Ghanchakkar

It would be rather difficult to guess from her clothes that Neetu is a regular reader of Vogue, which she buys from the neighbourhood newspaper stand. It would also be difficult to guess from the taste of the dishes she makes that Neetu is very fond of cooking. And it is even more difficult to guess from her sweet demeanour that a fire-brand Punjaban lies trapped inside. The old adage "Opposites attract" describes her marriage to a T, when we compare Neetu to the love of her life, Sanjay. Neetu is not into comfy clothes, she is into fashion atrocit. She is exhibitive about her feelings and doesn't really enjoy the contemplative retirement that they are leading. She never thinks enough is ever enough, she believes life should be lived young when one IS young and everything from the TV to the apartment to family holidays should be kingsize. But as Sanju now observes her suspiciously, he begins to wonder is this loving homemaker for real or is she actually conning the cons?

By Carolyn Cohn ZIGUNICHOR, Senegal (Reuters) - A mix of locals and music fans were watching silently or dancing, framed by the branches of the giant "fromager" tree that marks the centre of the Senegalese village of Diembering, as hip-hop band Tirailleurs started to sing about me. Or at least apparently they did - if only I could understand their Wolof language. Tirailleurs were performing at the four-day Festival des Rizieres, an annual celebration of hip-hop and reggae in the southern …

Toilet brushes and vacuum cleaners turn musical in hands of Nils Frahm

By Anastasia Gorelova LONDON (Reuters) - Three pianos, a wood pipe organ, a synthesiser and toilet brushes are the standard setup for a show by German experimental composer Nils Frahm. The organ of wood and vacuum cleaner tubes and the piano muffled with strips of felt were custom made, highlighting Frahm's unconventional approach to classical music. "Sometimes it is easier to create your own instrument and probably cheaper and it is also fun," he explained. …
