Jail Authorities Get Letter Hinting At Threat To Sanjay Dutt's Life

Prison officials at the Arthur Road Jail confirmed  that they recently received an anonymous letter, which  hinted at a threat to the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been convicted under the Arms Act by the court.

The Arthur Road jail authorities claim that they will provide adequate security to Sanjay Dutt, who has to undergo the remaining 42 months jail term after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. Dutt had initially made an application seeking permission to surrender at the Yerawada Jail directly, but the actor later withdrew the application. Sanjay will surrender at the special TADA court on Thursday evening, which operates from the Arthur Road jail premises.

Sanjay Dutt has been convicted for illegally possessing weapons, which were part of the consignment of weapons and explosives that had been brought to India for executing the 1993 serial blasts, which claimed the lives of 257 people and injured over 700.
