Kartik: People still want me to repeat PKP monologue

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

Youngster Kartik Tiwari can't erase that smile from his face whenever he is complimented for his superb act in 2011's cult success PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA. Even though close to couple of years have gone by ever since the release of the Luv Ranjan film, it is his five minute long monologue from that which is still remembered the most.

"When I did that scene, neither I nor anyone else had any idea that it would turn out to be so widely popular. I remember rehearsing for it number of days in succession before arriving for the scene's shoot," Kartik says in a nostalgic tone, "The requirement of the scene was for it to be canned in a single take. It was an unbelievable moment when it came out so well."

While this solitary scene, where Kartik is shown to be venting his frustration on women in general in an outrageously humorous way, continues to be viral in the space of internet, in the real world too Kartik is seeing numerous requests coming his way around re-enacting it.

Laughs Kartik, "Haan, kabhi bhi koyi party ya event hota hai toh people ask me to repeat that monologue. It is like a kid being asked to sing a song or recite a poem because he has done it well once. Of course I don't mind it all when I am asked to repeat it all over again. After all, the scene had made great contribution in giving me an identity. How can I ever forget that?"

Though he has a similar scene in PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 as well, he is not willing to commit around it's occurrence in his upcoming release AKASH VANI. "Wait and watch for that", smiles Kartik before signing off.
