Katrina did NEW YORK on Salman's advice

If you recall, a few years back when a reporter asked Katrina Kaif if she sought Salman Khan's advice before doing a particular film, the actress had angrily rebutted that Salman was not her manager or secretary. That obviously was not the case around the time she did NEW YORK starring John Abraham and her. It was Salman Khan who advised Katrina to do Kabir Khan's first mainstream Bollywood film.

Kabir had met Salman a few years earlier and had given a narration of his film KABUL EXPRESS. The star remembered him and when Katrina, unsure if she should do a film like NEW YORK, sought his advice he asked her to take up the role without thinking any further.

Kabir Khan revealed this while talking about his latest film EK THA TIGER due to release on 15th August, 2012, combining the Independence Day and Eid holidays. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and stars Salman and Katrina both and is expected to become a runaway hit.
