By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham EditorialWhile Ranbir Kapoor would be seen on the big screen with BESHARAM in a few days from now, another star that has emerged from the film and enjoying the limelight is the singer Sujeet Shetty. A reformed version of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, Sujeet is the man behind the song 'Love Ki Ghanti'.
A well-known composer in the Kannada film industry, he has arrived on the Bollywood scene with 'Love Ki Ghanti'. Aping the style of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, Sujeet says, "I had a huge task ahead when trying to sing this song. To get the expressions and attitude right and also try and match Ranbir Kapoor's voice and his character in the movie was something. Thanks to Lalit Pandit, Abhinav Kashyap and lyricist Rajiv Burnwal, 'Love Ki Ghanti' has turned out a chartbuster. It also happens to be one of Ranbir's favourite songs in the movie."
Apparently, Lalit Pandit wanted certain ticklish and naughty touch to the song, as was the hallmark of Kishore Kumar's songs
"We have heard Sujeet singing in trademark Kishore Kumar tone and people have appreciated his voice for years now. Thus when this song came, I couldn't think of anyone better. The song is quirky and catchy and it will only take the youth a second to start humming it," says Lalit.
"When one hears the song, there is an immediate connect to the tone and mood of a Kishoreda number. That was my idea behind 'Love Ki Ghanti' and Sujeet did complete justice to it," adds Abhinav.
No wonder, Sujeet is overwhelmed, more so due to favourable reviews from the critics. He has already bagged a couple of big assignments, details of which would be announced soon.
