New York, Nov. 6 (ANI): A new book, titled 'Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship and Betrayal,' has revealed that Oprah Winfrey's first tweet was something of a tragedy.

The book, authored by journalist Nick Bilton, explains how the talk show queen almost messed up her first tweet when Twitter co-founder Evan Williams went on her show to demonstrate how to use it, the New York Post reported.

Bilton explains in the book that the staff had set up a laptop with colored stickers like paint by numbers for the clumsy computer user.

Oprah was instructed to 'press the button on the keyboard with a yellow sticker', but instead pressed the caps-lock button.

Later rather than hitting 'send' on Twitter, she accidentally pressed the key with the yellow tape on it and this reset the screen and erased her first tweet, Bilton added. (ANI)
