Post TABLE NO. 21, Rajeev Khandelwal is in no hurry

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

TABLE NO. 21 is the only success of 2013 so far and while it's lead actor Rajeev Khandelwal has demonstrated good confidence in a film that showed his character in a negative light, one wonders how his future plans look like. Since he is known to be quite choosy about the work that he does, do we see some kind of momentum picking up as far as his future plans are concerned? Reason being that he has been extra selective about picking and choosing films ever since he made a very good debut with AAMIR.

"I had in fact some time back short listed a couple of scripts and was super excited about them since I felt that they were mind blowing. However there was an issue as these films didn't have an ability to go on floors. That further cost me 6-8 months. Anyways, I am learning in the process. If you see my career graph in films so far, I have been working with a few first timers and barring AAMIR, SHAITAN and TABLE NO. 21, my association hasn't been with very established production houses," he says.

"I still say yes to these guys since I want to stand up for newcomers. After all, I too started off new when someone gave me a chance. However for my films to follow, I have realised that a film doesn't have to be fantastic just at the script level. It also has to be executed well and then reach out to the masses," he adds.

He has become much shrewd about the do's and the dont's of the industry.

"I am not going to sign even a mind blowing script if I realise that the people associated with it don't have the ability to do justice to it. I know that it is not a fairy tale in the making here where you come and get successful each time around. Let there be downs as well so that you enjoy highs all the more," smiles Rajeev before signing off.
