RAGINI MMS director ready with his next, titled THE MALL

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

Now this piece of development took us by complete surprise. Even as RAGINI MMS 2 is in news due to Sunny Leone featuring as a central protagonist, one wondered what was Pawan Kripalani, director of Rajkumar Yadav-Kainaz Motiwala starrer RAGINI MMS up to, considering no film of his had been announced. Though recently there was a buzz around him approaching Yadav and Divyendu Sharma for a horror comedy TANTRIK, there was no concrete information shared yet.

As it has turned out though, in the middle of this all, he has in fact gone ahead and completed a film which is tentatively titled THE MALL. Yet again, the film is set in a horror zone.

"Pawan wanted to keep a low profile on this film and talk about it only when the final cut was in place and it was ready for promotion," informs a source, "As a matter of fact he started the shoot in the middle of the year itself."

However the cat is out of the bag as per insiders, the film has an out and out different narrative when compared to other horror films that have out of Bollywood.

"This one is set in a mall and narrates the story of one night when things go wrong for the characters in there," the source adds, "The film bears no similarity though with Purab Kohli starrer HIDE and SEEK (2010) which was set in a mall as well and was about five friends being abducted and held hostage by a person dressed as Santa Claus."

THE MALL stars Jimmy Shergill, Nushrat Bharucha and Arif Zakaria in principle roles. Incidentally, Zakaria was the antagonist in the horror film HAUNTED while for Jimmy Shergill, this is his third horror film (this time set in a mall) after A FLAT and CHHODON NAA YAAR which were set in a flat and a jungle respectively.

THE MALL is expected to arrive in February-March timeframe.
