Rajesh Khanna's Statue To Be Unveiled On First Death Anniversary

Legendary superstar Rajesh Khanna, also known as Kaka, passed away last year on July 18 and on his first death anniversary, a statue of India's first superstar will be unveiled at the Walk of the Stars at Bandra Bandstand Promenade.

In a statement, channel UTV Stars said that their organization would commemorate Rajesh Khanna's inimitable style and charismatic smile in a life-size brass statue. The statement also added that the brass statue will immortalize one of his iconic poses from his films and will be unveiled by the actor's family apart from other well-known names from the industry. The statue will be placed with statues of other prominent personalities of Bollywood like Yash Chopra, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand. However, the installation of the statue will happen sometime next month.

Rajesh Khanna, who started his career with Aakhri Khat in 1966, went on to become India's first superstar and was remembered for his performance in films such as Anand, Aradhana, Namak Haraam, Amar Prem, Kati Patang and Andaz, to name a few.
