She may be 'machaofying halla' all over and suffering from some 'critical conditionum'. However one conversation with Rani Mukerji and you know that her on-screen chemistry with her dark fantasy Prithvi is a result of some authentic choice that she as well as the makers of AIYYAA always had in mind.

"That's true," says Rani who is now counting days towards the release of her film, "Anurag Kashyap, Sachin Kundalkar and I were on the same page that we had to get some authentic casting in place for AIYYAA. I could pass on as a Marathi girl due to my looks and my director was also convinced about that. As for the leading man, we had to get someone who was real and indeed a South Indian. Moreover the accept has a major role to play in the characterisation as well and we could trust Prithvi to get it bang on. Moreover he is an epitome of tall, dark and handsome which went true with the characterisation."

Contrary to popular misconception around Rani suggesting Prithvi's name for the film, the truth is that it was Sachin who introduced him to her and Anurag Kashyap.

"All credit to Sachin for bringing him on board. In fact he went all out to make sure that the entire supporting cast was also Maharashtrian", she adds.

The last time this happened was for SINGHAM where apart from the lead pair of Ajay Devgn and Kajal Agarwal, the entire cast was made of Marathi speaking actors since the film was set in Maharashtra.
