Rare signed copy of Beatles' 'Please Please Me' LP finally sells for 12,000

London, Jan 1 (ANI): A rare version of a Beatles album, which expected to fetch 15,000 pounds, was finally sold for 12,000 pounds at the Worthing auction.

The Beatles LP, which was signed by all the four members of the band, has finally been sold for the amount rejected at auction in Sussex a few weeks earlier, the BBC reported.

Chris Collins, from Eastbourne, and his sister, Liz Chambers, from Worthing, whose father was given the LP during a drinking session, had initially turned down a 12k pounds bid for a copy of the album, 'Please Please Me,' as they expected to get 15k pounds for rarity kept in a tin for 30 years.

The siblings have reportedly accepted 12k pounds from private buyers for the album, which was signed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr after they used it as a drinks coaster during a card game in 1963.

According to auctioneer Paul Campbell, the vendors had decided to cut their losses and accept 12,000 pounds. (ANI)
