The two new releases of this week, Tigmanshu Dhulia's SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER RETURNS and Anshul Sharma's SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA..., were both off to a dull response of around 20-25 percent, with SBAGR predictably having its nose in front due to the better known stars and sequel (SBAG) advantage.
Given the fact that both the films have found takers in certain sections of the audience, the next two days of the weekend may just bring in some good news.
Meanwhile, last Friday's Ram Gopal Varma directed THE ATTACKS OF 26/11 and John Abraham's I, ME AUR MAIN ended the first week netting approximately 7.50 and 8.50 crore respectively (to be validated). Needless to add that both the films are commercial failures.
In fact as was obvious, it was Abhishek Kapoor's KAI PO CHE! which held on to the pole position with another 11.50 crore, thus netting 38 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India. And just as we had said in our box-office report, KAI PO CHE! is on way to be a clean success, if not a hit.
