SAAWARIYA to BESHARAM: Casanova Ranbir Kapoor celebrates his 31st Birthday

By Urvi Parikh, Glamsham Editorial

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor celebrates his 31st birthday today and the actor is surely on a roll. With his upcoming film BESHARAM just a week away from the release, we take a trip down the lane of Ranbir's various avatars in his filmy journey.

Ranbir Kapoor won his first Filmfare Award for his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's SAAWARIYA in 2007, where he was seen portraying the role of a die-hard majnu who tries to get the attention of Sonam Kapoor in every possible manner. The movie didn't do well at the box office, but Bollywood got their new lover-boy in the form of Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir's next release was Siddharth Anand's BACHNA AE HASEENO in 2008, a rom-com which saw him romancing three beautiful ladies - Minissha Lamba, Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone. The movie scored well at the box office and simultaneously also got B-town's new couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Ranbir's Casanova role in the movie sort of resembled his real life persona, thus giving the audience a hint of his female-charmer side.

In 2009, Ranbir Kapoor enjoyed three releases - WAKE UP SID, AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI and ROCKET SINGH-SALESMAN OF THE YEAR. While on-screen Ranbir was seen trying to woo the girls in the first two of his films, off-screen he was in news for his much hyped break-up with Bollywood's leggy lass Deepika Padukone and a rumored affair with his APGK co-star Katrina Kaif, thus sparking the debate over his 'Casanova' personality.

While in 2010, Ranbir was seen portraying the intense lover in ANJANA ANJAANI, he was seen romancing two girls - Katrina Kaif and Sarah Thompson Kane, a firang in RAAJNEETI, the roles which were similar to his character.

2011 gave Bollywood it's one and only 'Rockstar'. Ranbir took everyone by surprise and earned lot of accolades for his role in ROCKSTAR. The actor essayed the role of an eccentric lover who couldn't succeed in the relationship, opposite the debutante Nargis Fakhri. The lover-boy-turned-musician became a rage amongst the youngsters and earned Ranbir his first Filmfare in the best actor category.

In the very next year (2012), the Kapoor lad was seen romancing two beauties - southern hottie Ileana D'cruz and the sexy Priyanka Chopra in the award winning BARFI! The movie not only fetched Ranbir another Filmfare Best actor trophy, but also made it to the 100-crore club. But with all this, Ranbir kept to his 'Casanova' image by romancing two girls.

The actor took everyone by surprise when his next film, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI starring his ex-flame Deepika Padukone hit the screens in 2013. The ex-lovers set the screen on fire with their passionate chemistry and Badtameezi.

With the year's last quarter set to see Ranbir sharing screen space with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the upcoming film BESHARAM releasing on October 2, we wonder how the actor will try to carry his 'casanova' image opposite the debutante Pallavi Sharda!
