Saif Ali Khan-Ramesh Taurani confirm plans for RACE 3

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

A very good opening weekend of RACE 2 has done the trick for its makers. As is expected from successful franchises, even RACE is also set for its third installment now. This would add it to the elite club which has GOLMAAL, DHOOM and KRRISH as its members currently.

"It makes sense as well," says a source, "Ending of RACE 2 has been left open ended. Since John's character hasn't been done away with entirely, unlike Akshaye Khanna who was bumped off in RACE, it is clear that he would be back for revenge. However, it has to be seen whether he returns in RACE 3 or RACE 4."

Though connection between RACE and RACE 2 was quite feeble with Bipasha Basu tying the two stories, the makers are keeping the cards close to their chest as far as revealing the plot of RACE 3 is concerned.

Says producer Ramesh Taurani who has hit gold with his Abbas-Mustan directed flick, "I want a 10-day holiday now. It has been a two year long journey to put together RACE 2. But yes, RACE 3 is definitely on. With the sequel doing so well at the box office, it deserves more installments. We have these as a part of our immediate plans."

This is a thought which is pretty much being echoed by Saif as well who has enjoyed the biggest opening ever for a film of his, hence surpassing COCKTAIL in the process.

"We are pretty much confirmed to go ahead with RACE 3. I think if the film continues to run so very well, there is no reason why we shouldn't extend the story any further. The script will have to be much stronger though," Saif Ali Khan says.

We concur Saif.
