Filmmaker Sajid Khan, who is directing Himmatwala, the remake of the popular 80s film starring Jeetendra and Sridevi, recently had Ajay Devgn put on his dancing shoes for reliving the magic of the popular song Tathaiya Tathaiya for the remake.
Devgn, who had a great time shooting for the song, said, “It is one of the most popular numbers from the 80’s. Right from the sets to the costumes and the choreography, everything has been perfectly recreated.”
On being asked about whether Sajid was apprehensive about people comparing the original film with his remake, he said, “I want people to make comparisons because I have done justice to the original. Of course, it will be unfair to compare Ajay to Jeetendra especially since Jeetendra’s image as a dancer was strong at that time.”
On her part, choreographer Farah Khan, who had worked on the song, said, “I was not sure whether Ajay would be able to match Jeetendra’s steps, but the entire unit broke into applause after he gave his first take.”
Himmatwala remake also stars Tammannah Bhatia and Paresh Rawal.
