Salman Khan-Eros International's JAI HO to enjoy record breaking start?

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

Shahrukh Khan's CHENNAI EXPRESS set the stage early this year. Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH 3 carried on the momentum. Aamir Khan's DHOOM 3 is all set to go one up. And now with decks being cleared for Salman's JAI HO, what with the film's association with Eros being announced, all eyes are on the kinds of records that the film is set to break and create.

"It is a dream stage and setting for the film," observes a Trade Guru, "It is undoubtedly the biggest film of January next year. Moreover, it is arriving more than a year after DABANGG 2 and craze for the film is manifold. Salman's popularity has only grown further over the months gone by and with five back to back 100 crore hits, he is all set to be the only actor to register a double hat-trick of successes."

As for the film's perfect placement, coming in of Eros in the scheme of things has only made this preposition all the more bright.

"With the kind of network that Eros enjoys, JAI HO is all set to get a huge release. Don't be surprised if the film sees the biggest release of all times with the 4000 screens mark being crossed," an insider adds, "As we talk, calculators are already out on how to maximise the reach of JAI HO and make it a universal phenomenon. It is going to be an event release."

Though the film does lose out on the holiday advantage of Republic Day (since 26th January falls on a Sunday), it's arrival as a solo release with no major competition before it has already made this Sohail Khan and Sunil Lulla produced film red hot in trade, industry and audience. Now with the first look of the film expected to be out anytime, it would be time for audience to gauge the quantum of success.

The eventual question is - 'How big?'

Stay tuned!
