Salman's Jodhpur Prison Secret!

A celeb spends time for an alleged crime in jail. And his dark incarcerated days will soon be served up to illumine cinema.

Salman Khan, one of the prime accused in the (in)famous Chinkara case had to serve prison terms in 1996 and 1998. And the three days that Mahesh Kumar Saini, a murder suspect and Salman Khan's former cellmate spent together at Jodhpur Jail in 1996 will form an invaluable base for producer Ranjit Sharma's 'Qaidi No. 210'.

Sharma has roped in Saini as a consultant on the controversial flick. Reportedly, Chirag Patil, scion of the famed cricketer Sandeep Patil, will enact Salman onscreen.

Says Saini in a media chat, "On the first day, Salman was very tense, so I took him on a prison tour. Salman is addicted to coffee and wanted to have a cup almost every hour! On the second night, I made soya bean and we ate together. When he was feeling bored, I arranged for a carrom and chess board for Salman, and also sneaked in dumb bells for him to exercise although it was not allowed."

His concluding quote, though, is food for thought. "Salman is actually innocent," asserts Saini. "I know the truth, because Salman told me everything in confidence. But, I cannot reveal more now. Salman did not fire the gun shot that killed the chinkara. He's going through hell covering up for someone else and trying to save that person."
