Sanjay Gupta To Tweak 'Shootout At Wadala' To Avoid Controversies

A few days back, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, whose upcoming film Shootout At Wadala is about to release in the next few months, had announced at an event that he is ready for the controversies that will arise on the release of the movie.

However, now, it seems that Gupta has taken an about turn and decided to re-shoot and re-dub certain portions of the film, to avoid any legal hassles. Sources claim that following legal advice, Gupta has decided to change the names of all the characters, except Manya Surve, in his movie. Readers who have seen the trailers of the film will recall that the movie mentions real life underworld characters like Sabir Ibrahim and Dawood Ibrahim. Confirming the news, Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Tanuj Garg said that certain precautions have been taken to avoid legal issues.

Starring John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Tusshar Kapoor and other actors, Shootout At Wadala dramatizes the first ever recorded encounter in the history of Mumbai Police, wherein dreaded gangster Manya Surve was shot dead by cops near a college in Wadala.
