William Shakespeare's famous tragic love story 'Romeo And Juliet' about two star crossed lovers, is something that has always attracted Indian filmmakers. Right from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to Ishaqzaade and the upcoming Ram Leela, the play has been adapted to the silver screen on numerous occasions.
Now, it seems that even acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur wants to try his hand at adapting the play to the silver screen. It is being said that Kapur's upcoming futuristic flick Paani, which is set against the backdrop of water shortage issues in the city, is inspired from 'Romeo And Juliet' and will follow the story of two lovers from rival families.
Moreover, it is also being said that the film, which is set in futuristic Mumbai, will be shot in Singapore.
