Shruti Haasan, who's been missing from the Bollywood arena for quite some time now, is back with a bang. The actress will be seen in two forthcoming films, D-Day and Ramaiya Vastavaiya and she'll play a prostitute in the former.
Talking about her D-Day character, the actress said, “I'm playing the role of a commercial sex worker from Karachi in Pakistan. It is an extremely layered, intense and deep character and it's a story I really wanted to be a part of.”
Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film stars Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles alongwith Shruti.
Such expectations were riding high on this film right from the moment it was announced, since it was coming from the director who gave Telugu audiences a sensational movie like "Swamy Ra Ra", which was a critical and commercial hit and opened the floodgates to a genre that was considered underrated.
