14 February 2013

London, February 14 (ANI): Sir Cliff Richard has admitted that he never wanted children because being a parent would have got in the way of his career.

The 72-year-old star said that while he believes he would have been a good father, he doesn't regret his decision since he believes that his freedom has allowed him continue with his career.

Speaking to The Lady magazine, the singer, who is preparing to tour again, said that he has never been bothered by this, the Daily Mail reported.

He explained that he has three sisters who have children, and it's been wonderful to watch them grow up, get married and start families of their own.

He added that he has made sure to always play a part in their lives.

So while he accepts that he would have been a good father, he's glad that he's given himself to his family and he wouldn't have it any other way.

"Had I been married and with children I wouldn't be able to do what I do now - I wouldn't want to do what I do now," he said. (ANI)
