Solo release for Ajay Devgn and Sajid Khan's HIMMATWALA

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

In the times when two films a week is a norm and three/four films arriving on a single weekend has started becoming a (bad) habit,

HIMMATWALA is standing tall in the crowd. The 80s remake would be enjoying a solo release for itself and a good credit for that

goes to the box-office standing of Ajay Devgn and Sajid Khan, both of whom are going through a very good stint.

"Ajay is coming straight from two back-to-back 100 crore hits like SON OF SARDAAR and BOL BACHCHAN. Though TEZZ and

RASCALS were downers, he had a third biggie in the form of SINGHAM. His recent choices have all been fantastic and he is positive

that HIMMATWALA would add on to the good run," comments an insider.

On the other hand Sajid Khan is the only director after Rajkumar Hirani whose first three films have all been major box office successes,

right from HEYY BABYY to HOUSEFULL and HOUSEFULL 2. Courtesy his combination with Ajay looking piping hot, exhibitors

and distributors are putting their faith on HIMMATWALA to be 2013's first runaway biggie that goes on to cross the 100 crore mark

by a huge margin.

"That's their first and the major most choice," the insider continues, "There is no quintessential commercial biggie for next six weeks

which could bring in all-Indian audience. HIMMATWALA is going to be that one film which is trusted to deliver goods."

No wonder this co-production of Vashu Bhagnani and Siddharth Roy Kapur (of UTV) is seeing a solo release for itself with no other

film, whether big or small, arriving on the same day. Though as of now there are half a dozen films each releasing on the week before and

after HIMMATWALA, it is the Sajid Khan film which is clearly the favoured lot.

Now all that the Sajid needs to do is deliver a film which is indeed loved and enjoyed by one and all so that the trust shown in the combination is justified.
