Subhash Ghai: Kartik Tiwari as good as Akshay Kumar

After raving about his leading lady Mishti, filmmaker Subhash Ghai is all praise for the young actor Kartik Tiwari, who shot to fame with his debut film PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA and latest release AKAASH VANI.

"Kartik is a star material. He is as good as Akshay Kumar with good action, dance and presence on screen. Kartik is going to be a superstar in 2013," says Subhash Ghai about AKAASH VANI star, Kartik Tiwari.

Kartik hails from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh before he moved to Navi Mumbai where he pursued a degree in Engineering. It was then that he had his sights on acting and within little time, he was discovered online to be approached for his first film PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA by the director, Luv Ranjan about his performance in the film.

One of the well- known trade analyst has been quoted saying, "Kartik is a bit awkward initially, but his performance grows on you gradually. He's incredible during the final moments of the film."

Kartik Tiwari is the male lead of Subhash Ghai's magnum opus musical thriller, KAANCHI releasing on 15th August 2013. It is the story of an innocent girl from Uttarkhand whose father, an ex-army man, gets shot. This event turns her life upside down and after a certain point, she refuses to be the victim, stand up to fight her way out and emerges as a winner. Ismail Darbar and Salim Suleman have contributed to the tunes of the film.
