Will Tia Bajpai be a part of Vikram's 5-film deal with Bhushan Kumar?

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

The news has spread like wildfire. Vikram Bhatt has signed a five film deal with Bhushan Kumar and while each of these would be a co-production, he would also be directing two of these. In such a scenario, one wonders where does Tia Bajpai fit in. The young woman had a three film contract with Vikram's company and now that she is through with it, all eyes are on she would be nurtured further, more so since she has delivered a bravura performance in 1920: EVIL RETURNS and has been widely acknowledged by one and all.

"Honestly, it all depends on how she handles her career from here. We had a moral responsibility to take her in 1920 - EVIL RETURNS after HAUNTED and LANKA and now she has to be careful about her future films to ensure that what she picks, it works well for her. I look forward to her making some good choices and build on the platform that she has gained with her films with us," says Vikram.

The actor who has managed to do that though is Aftab Shivdasani who waited for an entire year before 1920 - THE EVIL RETURNS could turn into reality. Applying a break on signing films, he trusted Vikram to deliver the goods for her. For the filmmaker-actor 'jodi' that has collaborated on nine films so far, there was also a joke going round the town that instead of publicising the so-called affair between Vikram and Tia, it wouldn't have been a bad idea to accuse Vikram and Aftab of being closet gays and promote them as a couple, courtesy their long standing partnership.

Says Vikram after a hearty laugh here, "Well, that's where I would draw a line to publicise my film. All said and done, I protect my heterosexuality quite fiercely."
