Uday Chopra

If things don't work out its better to move on and that's what our Chopra scion, Uday Chopra, son of late filmmaker Yash Chopra, is about to do. Uday, who is set to be seen in upcoming release DHOOM 3 starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan alongside, had long back announced about his retirement from acting. However, we deemed Uday to be just kidding about it or probably in a mood to take a break.

But to our surprise, Uday candidly confessed about his giving up acting recently when we met the younger son of the legendary filmmaker. He said, "Now that I have gone behind the scenes, I want to concentrate being a producer. I have set-up my own company in LA and following it diligently. It takes much of my time so I don't have enough time to continue acting and that's why I said DHOOM 3 will be my swan song. Having said that, I might continue to act as a hobby but certainly not as a career. So, when DHOOM 4 would be made I will willingly do it and if something else also comes like some smaller roles and if it is fun enough to do, I might do it."

Uday further reasons about leaving acting, "I wasn't happy with the kind of stuff I was getting. So I thought I can go only this far. I decided to change the profession and do something where I can add further, where I can have my contribution."

Ask Uday if he plans to get into direction like his father and he says, "Not yet may be in few years. As of now, I am busy setting up my own company to make sure that it is running well and making money. May be after that I can take it up."

But poke him when he has his own production house and business established here, what inspires him to open a separate arm and Uday says, "See it's a challenge. I can always do whatever I want to here. As I have my own studio set-up and an established brand but I want to do something where I can achieve it. It takes enough guts and it's a risky decision to do it. But it's more exciting than to just sit back and do the same thing again."

Well, we wish Uday all the luck in his new endeavour and hope his new venture reap him the desired fruits which he couldn't enjoy being an actor!
