By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham EditorialFor someone who delivered five back to back successes (KAHAANI, THE DIRTY PICTURE, NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, ISHQIYA, PAA), one would have expected Vidya Balan to sign films by the dozens. Instead, she decided to go ultra-slow. One wonders what was her idea behind taking a real long break, especially after the super success of KAHAANI. When any other leading lady would have looked at consolidating her place further in the industry, she decided to pick and choose films quite sparsely with two relatively light hearted films GHANCHAKKAR and SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS followed by latest inclusion HAMARI ADHURI KAHAANI.
Pray, why? "See, you have to take into consideration the fact that I had been working non-stop for last so many years. With my marriage in the waiting, I had to focus on doing up the house as well. I wanted to enjoy that phase than running around the studios. I wanted to settle down into the new house before diving into work," says Vidya in a matter of fact tone.
That pretty much explains the mini hiatus she found herself in, which saw her getting married in December last year. "I like to do things that I enjoy doing. I don't want to do something just for the sake of it. If there was a 15 months gap between KAHAANI and GHANCHAKKAR, it was for a reason. Now that SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS would be arriving only next year, it is play. I am not in a hurry to go anywhere else," smiles Vidya.
She continues in a trademark tone of hers, "I am here to stay forever in any case. Main filmein toh karti hi rahoongi . And rest assured, jab bhi screen par aaongi, kuch toh magic hoga hi. Woh dekh lena ."
We look forward to that magic for sure once Vidya and Farhan come together for SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS which has been designed to arrive on Valentine's Day i.e. 14th February. Later, HAMARI ADHURI KAHAANI, where she has Emraan Hashmi and Raj Kumar Yadav for company, releases on 7th November next year.
