The numero-uno female star of Bollywood, the only one compared with the Khans in terms of box office appeal, the National Award-winning actress Vidya Balan expressed her willingness to do a film based on UNHOOKED a novel written by Munmun Ghosh. She said this while answering questions at a jam-packed event to launch the novel at Landmark, Infiniti Mall, Mumbai. She said it depends on who makes the film, and if he/she can do justice to the book's content and if she (Vidya) has a role in such a film.

She recommended the book as an essential reading for women as well as for men who wish to understand what women think about them. She said she was hooked by UNHOOKED. It's a book every woman can relate with. It's also an easy read. She seemed quite fascinated by the book's author Munmun Ghosh and informed the media and the audience that she would launch every book of the author now onwards.

While talking about what made her pitch for the book, she said she was intrigued by the book's cover and title and was not too sure about its content. She initially thought the book might have the usual commercial quotient. As she opened it and saw the author Munmun Ghosh's photograph on the inside cover she felt there was a mismatch between the cover and that photograph. It prompted her to read the book and she finished it at one go. Her decision to launch the book was an easy one after that.
