Why is MAKKHI wowing stars like Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn?

It's not an ordinary 'makkhi' (fly). It's a star that has long joined the 100 crore club and is all set to break quite a few box office records and set its own. MAKKHI is releasing on 12th March, 2012, and Bollywood should be worried. While you can go for a remake of South Indian hit with top line Bollywood stars replacing their southern counterparts, what will you do with a star that is an animated character who does not even speak yet wins your heart with its romantic attitude, mind-boggling stunts, and dancing prowess?

MAKKHI poses a big challenge to the star system in the tinsel world and if Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn are according it great respect and honor, it deserves it. The Telugu blockbuster of 2012, EEGA directed by S. S. Rajamouli, produced by Sai Korrapati and D. Suresh Babu will be released nationwide in Hindi as MAKKHI by Reliance Entertainment on 12th October 2012. The film's Tamil (NAANE) and Malyalam (EECHA) versions have already been released. So far it has done a worldwide business of 130 crores gross.

S. S. Rajamouli's films have been previously remade into Hindi Bollywood blockbusters like SINGHAM, ROWDY RATHORE, and the upcoming SON OF SARDAAR. Since an animated fly didn't need to be replaced by a star, the makers simply dubbed the film and renamed it as MAKKHI and found a partner in Reliance Entertainment that had its first major success with SINGHAM after a series of box-office disasters. If one goes by the response of Mumbai audience and the media to the film's special preview, Reliance has yet another winner on hand.
