How Late Yash Chopra's Advice Helped 'Gunday' Team

Director Ali Abbas Zafar, who will be directing the next YRF film Gunday, recently admitted that his discussions with the late Yash Chopra helped the film team immensely when they had to create a coal-mine set.

Interestingly, the last YRF film shot in a coal mine was Yash Chopra's Kaala Patthar in 1979, which had a Hollywood team specially flown in to be on board to supervise the technicality of shooting this on location. Before Zafar started working on Gunday in August 2012, he had several discussions with Yash Chopra where the latter shared all his experiences of shooting the coal mine sequences of Kaala Patthar with Ali, which later became the guideline for the set construction for Gunday.

Gunday, which is set in 70s Kolkata, stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan.
