'Zanjeer' Remake To Touch Upon Yashwant Sonawane Immolation Case?

In January 2011, goons of the petrol and diesel mafia in Maharashtra's Nashik district set ablaze an additional district collector named Yashwant Sonawane for cracking down on their illicit activities and in upcoming film Zanjeer, director Apoorva Lakhia will reportedly touch upon the issue.

In one of the scenes from the Telugu trailer of Zanjeer (which was released in the South yesterday), an honest assistant district collector is shown to be set ablaze by goons belonging to an oil mafia gang and the sequence seems quite similar to the Yashwant Sonawane immolation case. In the film, ACP Vijay Khanna (played by Ram Charan Teja) will be seen locking horns with the oil mafia.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Zanjeer also stars Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Mahie Gill.
