Style Evolution: Esha Gupta

Style Evolution: Esha Gupta

13 May 2013

All curves and flowing curls, it’s easy to see why Vogue’s April cover star, actress Esha Gupta makes a photographer’s job easy.

While her bold movie roles may require more risqué wardrobes, the Jannat 2 star is proving to have a versatile approach to red carpet dressing. Like any hard-won asset, Gupta’s narrow waist is usually the focal point of her wardrobe choices. Case in point: the red Shantanu & Nikhil gown with sheer panels she wore to promote Jannat 2 in the summer of 2012, which highlighted her toned abdomen. When the forecast predicted a ladylike elegance would permeate all wardrobes for the end of 2012, it quickly reflected in the two-toned Atsu sheath that Gupta wore to a National Geographic event in October. The look worked for her, and she decided to stick with it. Malhotra dressed Gupta in a sheer black sari with phulkari embroidery for his Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W 2013 show, and that look quickly became one of the most shared images on Vogue’s social media platforms. Gupta caught on. She chose a Manish Malhotra sari for her next fashion week outing.
